We probably need to explain who Eyal Berkovic is. The Israeli footballer had a long career in the UK, which started with Southampton in 1996. Unlike Man U, Southampton is not exactly a powerhouse. And unlike Cantona, Berkovic wasn't exactly a household name. So what better way to make yourself known? Kick the top team's top player — and the league's biggest villain — in the balls.

Alas, Berkovic never got the chance. Instead, he scored two goals and assisted on three others as Southampton trashed Man U in an emphatic, historic 6:3 victory. So kicking Cantona in the balls was no longer necessary — Berkovic's soccer skills spoke for themselves.
