So why don't we love Steve Birnbaum?

By all looks, we should. He was a highly-sought prospect, the #2 overall pick in the MLS draft. He immediately became a starter, and, by the end of his rookie year, earned a call-up to the US national team. He is touted by many to be a future World Cup defender! When all is said and done, he could just be one of the best soccer Jews ever!

So why don't we love Steve Birnbaum?

He plays for our most hated team, DC United.

We can't love ALL soccer Jews...
