Does Molly Bloom deserve her own movie? A two-and-a-half hour epic?
Molly is a former competitive freestyle skier, sister of previously-profiled Olympian Jeremy Bloom. She missed our on her own Olympic glory after a horrifying accident in qualifying. She is also an author, whose bestseller "Molly's Game" was made into a film.
All Molly did was stage a highly successful, somewhat illegal, multi-million dollar poker game, in New York and Los Angeles, for close to a decade. The game featured many celebrities and gangsters. It didn't end well for Molly; she was lucky to avoid prison time. That's a movie?
Well, at least it gave us the scene when a player, confused by Molly's straight-out-of-"Ulysses" name, confronts her about her ethnicity. "I am a Russian Jew," she deadpans.
We don't know if it deserves a movie, but it definitely deserves a profile...
