This is not a profile of all aardvarks. This is a profile of Aardvark, the star of a short-lived cartoon that debuted in 1969, named "The Ant and the Aardvark". The titular ant's name is Charlie, and the titular aardvark's name is Aardvark. We just love writing that word... aardvark.
(As a side note, what's the difference between aardvarks and anteaters? Ah, here we go. Aardvarks are native to Africa, anteaters to South America. Aardvarks are sometimes commonly known as anteaters (but never the other way around). Don't say you haven't learned anything today!)
In any case, "The Ant and the Aardvark" was a spinoff from "The Pink Panther Show" and featured the titular characters in a battle of wits. Think Wile E. Coyote / Road Runner or Tom / Jerry, but with a lot more kvetching. Yes, kvetching, because Aardvark's voice was modeled after Jackie Mason. In the first episode we watched, he complained numerous times about not becoming a banker or a doctor.
Such is the lot of aardvarks...
