The new host of Jeopardy! will be...
No one knows at this point. After Alex Trebek's passing, the show has been parading guest hosts, not hinting of who will get the full time job.
There was the greatest Jeopardy player ever, Ken Jennings (unpolished, but geekily enthusiastic). Executive producer Mike Richards (steady, but not a big name). Longtime newspeople Katie Couric and Bill Whittaker (probably a bit past their sell-by date). Younger newsperson Anderson Cooper (would he do Jeopardy as a full-time gig?). Somehow, quarterback Aaron Rodgers (the self-proclaimed smartest player in the NFL; the measuring stick is not exactly long). Even noted charlatan Dr. Oz... (It better not be Dr. Oz!) More are in line to try.
And now, Jeopardy has been finally hosted by a Jew, former Tournament of Champions winner, the sharply-dressed Buzzy Cohen. (For decades, his family owned a clothing store in the Jewish enclave of Livingston, NJ.) Cohen did incredibly well hosting this year's Tournament of Champions, but he is probably not a big enough name to win the job.
As long as it's not Dr. Oz...
