Each of these pairs of paintings contains an original by the master Amedeo Modigliani and a fake by the master forger Elmyr de Hory.
Can you pick out the real ones?
You got
two right... No, wait,
one right? No, we had it correct the first time, it was
two... we think?
You are probably not a professional (if you are, feel free to drop us a note, we have some... art to appraise), but this is pretty hard, isn't it? Elmyr de Hory, born Elemer Hoffmann, was one of 20th century's most notorious forgers. His specialties: Picasso, Matisse, Renoir, and fellow Jew Modigliani.
At some point, de Hory owned up to his fakeries and retired to a life of... painting (and shtupping his nubile companion). And, because a snake must eat his tail, he own paintings started to get forged!
After some thought... You got one right. We're pretty sure!
