If we learned anything from reading sports blogs, is that sex sells. The problem is, most of the athletes are male, most of the fans are male, and showing scantily-clad former to the latter would not exactly win you many hits.
So what do sports blogs do? They pray on the sideline princess, that solitary female that penetrates the abode of male sport. And since many of these sideline princesses don't look too shabby, their pictures get inserted wherever possible. And thousands of hits follow.
But we? We don't care that much about our hits. So, Erin Andrews, stay away. Jenn Brown, take a hike. Lindsay Soto, we've never heard of you. Jill Arrington, you're trying too hard. We're gonna profile ESPN anchor Linda Cohn, a trail blazer, a real journalist, and a Jew. A woman who uses more than her physical assets to rise to the top of a male-dominated field.
Ines Sainz? Hmmmmm.
