Quick! Name the three Jewish directors of Star Wars!
That's easy: Irvin Kershner, of course. Profiled him already. Then J. J. Abrams, obviously. And... ummm...
The third is Genndy Tartakovsky, but he didn't direct a motion picture. Tartakovsky, a Russian-born Jew, made his name in animation. His creations include "Dexter's Laboratory" and "Samurai Jack".
Tartakovsky helmed the "Star Wars: Clone Wars" animated series, directing all 25 episodes. (This is not to be confused with the second animated series, "Star Wars: The Clone Wars". Note the "The".)
In fact, George Lucas actually allowed Tartakovsky some level of freedom, so the director actually created some characters and story lines.
That being said, before the release of Episode VII, Tartakovsky's series was dropped from canon. (The other Clone Wars remained.) So, if you want to get pedantic about it, there are only two Jewish directors of Star Wars...
