Some of us have finally watched "The Wire" (what took us so long?!), so let's find the Jews!
Clearly, with a cast of characters that is three quarters black, this is not easy, but there are a few. One is odiously obvious: Maury Levy, the lawyer for drug dealers. He might be the most despicable character on the whole show, and we're including Clay Davis.
The second is prosecutor Rhonda Pearlman. The show doesn't implicitly say it, but series creator David Simon confirmed that she is. At least she balances out Levy...
The third is Jay Landsman, the bulky police sergeant with a love for busty magazines. He gets some of his personality aspects from a real detective, named... Jay Landsman. The real one is a Jew: who else can he be with that name? Case closed here.
Another one? Well, Simon, a former "Baltimore Sun" reporter, appears in a couple of scenes as... a "Baltimore Sun" reporter (assumingly, named David Simon).
Marlo Stanfield? G-d, no. Thankfully, Simon didn't name him "Stanfeld"...
